Advocacy @ HBT: Event on November 25th, Gratitude to Constable Smith, Call to Vote

Join us on November 25th as we welcome Royal Canadian Mounted Police Assistant Commissioner Richard Baylin, the highest-ranking Jewish officer in the RCMP. Alongside him will be Mark Sandler, the founder and Chair of the Alliance of Canadians Combatting Antisemitism (ALCCA).

Following the attack on the Sons of Jacob synagogue, this program is even more necessary. Baylin and Sandler will discuss the current threats to the Jewish community of Canada and how Canadian society can best respond.

We join the Jewish, and Canadian, community in offering our words of gratitude and appreciation for Constable Jeff Smith, whose heroism averted a massacre. His courage and selflessness represent the very best of Canada.

You can send your own words of thanks to him and his family through the UJA website.

Finally, as municipal election day approaches on October 26th, we want to promote the good work of CJPAC at voteand.ca. Our next mayor, council, and school trustees will make critical decisions about safety in our streets, what’s taught in our schools, and how Toronto responds to hateful extremism. In municipal elections, a few dozen votes can change everything.

The greatest act of advocacy and political transformation you will see this year is being an active part of this election. Make a voting plan, engage with CJPAC, and tell your friends and family about how important it is that our community gets out the vote. Go to Vote And | CJPAC and get involved!
