Shabbat of Welcome 5787/2026
November 6-7, 2026
Together, we’ll celebrate our vibrant community, where each one of us has helped make Holy Blossom a spiritual home. With so many of our members joining in the past few years, this event is our way of celebrating the entire congregation, and especially those who are just beginning their journey with us.
On November 6, from 5:00-6:00 pm, all are welcome to a wine and cheese reception to meet our new members, chat with our Rabbis, Cantors, and Professional Team, and share in the joy of our growing community.
The evening will flow into Kabbalat Shabbat in the Mishkan, where we’ll welcome Shabbat together in song and spirit. For our school-aged families, there will be a Shabbat B’Yachad. Children will begin the service with their families and then be invited to a meaningful breakout session with beloved Song Leader Ayla Smolash. Shabbat B’Yachad is generously sponsored by Carole and Jay Sterling and Family.
On Saturday, November 7, there will be a congregational Shabbat Service beginning at 10:30 am in the Sanctuary. Following the services, there will be a Shabbat of Welcome Mimosa Toast sponsored by the Marilynne and Joseph Cass New Member Welcome Initiative in honour of our new members.
For our young families, we will have a special Pyjama Havdalah on Saturday, November 7, from 5:30-7:00 pm. Hosted by our Rabbis, Cantors, and Educators, we will have fun and games, havdalah, and a light dinner to follow. Come out to welcome new families, and if you are a new family, be welcomed! Please see the separate registration for the Pyjama Havdalah and don’t forget to sign up.
Please let us know how many people from your household, including yourself, are attending Shabbat of Welcome on Friday night to assist with planning. Thank you!
