Youth in Action: Leadership, Learning & Adventure

Programming for our teens and young people is in full swing! The weekly HABSTY program for our high schoolers is well attended, with our teens leading the program week after week!
The youth groups for our younger ages have the first event this coming week, and there is still time to sign up! The former YEAH, now Junior Youth Group – or JYG – will have a science exploration Sunday, October 25, after Religious School! We will make two-ingredient pizza dough, find out what happens when we add cocoa powder to a batter, and learn the correct ratio for the best slime!
The former JYG, now called HBTWeens, will also play around with pizza dough and slime, but they will also find out why cookie recipes are the ratios they are, and find out what happens when we add an extra egg, sugar or butter. They will also make their very own lava lamps!
This month has been a Disney-themed month for our after-school program! Every Thursday, the students embarked on a trip to a different theme park, discovering something new each week. Most noteworthy was our Animal Kingdom adventure, where they had to help save the animals from the flood and help Noah build the ark. We also made promises to help the animals that relied on Noah and now rely on us.
