Family Shabbat Offerings at a Glance
These programs are designed to help families with children of all ages participate meaningfully in Shabbat, offering age-appropriate ways to pray, connect, and belong at Holy Blossom Temple.
Tot Shabbat
An age-appropriate Shabbat experience for our littlest Blossoms and their grown-ups, centred on music, movement, story, and simple ritual. Tot Shabbat offers families a warm, joyful entry point into Jewish communal life and early Shabbat rhythms, followed by a very traditional Shabbos pizza dinner.
Friday Night Lights
A high-energy, camp-style Kabbalat Shabbat created with school-aged children in mind. Children step into leadership roles, help lead prayers and songs, and bring the ruach. The evening concludes with a communal Shabbat dinner that is a bit schmancier than pizza.
Shabbat B’Yachad (Together)
An intergenerational Kabbalat Shabbat designed to ensure families with school-aged children feel fully included in our main service. Families begin together; partway through, children are invited to a thematic breakout experience with our Songleader while their parents enjoy the service. The children rejoin towards the end and help the congregation make Kiddush and Motzi.
Family Shabbat Morning Service
A lively, interactive Shabbat morning experience designed especially for families. Join our rabbis and song leaders for joyful music, engaging stories, playful learning, and (of course) snacks. Following the service, families are invited to Kiddush, with a dedicated space to connect with one another.
Held in the Youth Chapel (3rd Floor).
Mini Minyan
A self-directed play space during Shabbat morning services for young children. Shabbat-appropriate toys and snacks are provided, allowing families to remain close to communal tefillah while meeting the needs of younger children.
