YAD: Next Gen: Building Community for the Next Generation
The Young(er) Adults Division is the place to be for Holy Blossom’s 19–39-year-olds! (or into your 40s, we don’t card!)
YAD: Next Gen fosters an inclusive and dynamic community hub where young Jewish adults can connect in a welcoming, meaningful, and engaging environment. Through innovative cultural and social programming, we provide opportunities for young Jews to build strong, lasting relationships while deepening their connection to Jewish life, heritage, and identity—outside of traditional worship settings.
YAD: Next Gen programming continues to build a strong sense of community for young professionals by offering opportunities to connect meaningfully with each other and the broader Holy Blossom community. In an increasingly digital world, in-person connection matters and we try to offer opportunities to get together at least once a month.
Through volunteer initiatives, social events, and leadership development, YAD participants are becoming more engaged in synagogue life by attending services, volunteering at Out of the Cold and more.
In addition to fostering internal community, YAD has also built meaningful connections with external partners, hosting events in collaboration with the Israel Policy Forum, the Toronto Jewish Film Festival and Hillel Ontario. These partnerships have provided unique opportunities for our young adults to engage with critical issues, Jewish culture, and networking in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Our programming ranges from the spiritual and Jewish tradition-based events such as Shabbat dinners, Havdalah and holiday themed “Pizza in the Hut” for Sukkot, and Matzah Crack making for Passover – to completely fun based “Board games & Bevvies”, Trivia night and “Night at the Cine-Gogue” which is in collaboration with the Toronto Jewish Film Festival. There’s truly something for everyone!
