Purim at Holy Blossom Temple!
Matanot La’Evyonim
One of the great mitzvot of Purim is to give matanot la’evyonim (gifts to those in need). We are asking our congregation please bring a few select items (listed below) to donate to our Out of the Cold program. These items will allow our families to engage in the mitzvah, and to make care packages on the eve of Purim itself (March 13). Items should be placed in the Janis Rotman Tzedakah Centre (found at the Ava Rd. Main Entrance). We appreciate the chesed, the loving kindness, of our community.
Items as follows, to please be donated in new condition:
- Toothbrushes (individually packaged)
- Toothpaste
- Deodorant
- Socks
- Scarves
- Hats
Donations will be accepted until March 9.

Graggers, Get’em while the Gettin’ is Good!
Graggers/Greggers/Groggers/Rashanim/Noisemakers, etc. are now available for purchase. Hand-crafted from different woods by our member, Arieh Waldman, these very noisy items are one-of-a-kind. Each is unique in the wood used and the way it looks and sounds. These items are a perfect Purim gift. Additionally, for the rest of the year, they can be used to scare critters away from your backyard or cottage. All (100%) of the proceeds go to the Women of Holy Blossom in honour of Mary Seldon. Only $50 per unit, with an extra $10 charged if you want a name inscribed/burned on the gragger.
