Advocacy @ HBT: Standing with Iranians against the brutal regime.
Last week, we highlighted a local solidarity march to stand with protestors against the Iranian regime. This week, CIJA has taken up the call and has created an action item pressing for government action, which you can access here.
As CIJA writes, “Urge the Canadian government to strengthen accountability for Regime officials committing human rights abuses, unequivocally condemn the massacre of Iranian civilians, remove and ban IRGC-linked individuals from Canada, and assist multilateral action to transition Iran toward a better future for the Iranian people.”
The CIJA Action Hub has more details, and you can add your name to this call by clicking on the link.
Rabbi Kaye spoke about a personal connection to the protests in Iran a few weeks ago. You can watch his sermon here.
As many of you know, there is often a vocal Persian presence at many pro-Israel events across the GTA. Persian Canadians and Iranians who have made their home in Canada after fleeing the oppression of the Islamic Republic are some of our most sincere allies. Urging our government to support our Persian friends and allies, as thousands of people have been murdered across Iran, is a powerful message of solidarity.
