This week Honest Reporting Canada and CIJA both presented detailed reports on the anti-Israel media bias at the CBC. You can read more here and here. Both organizations argue that the CBC has violated their own tenets on journalistic integrity, standards, and practices. You can add your voice to the petition to the President of the CBC, demanding accountability and an independent commission into the CBC’s reporting on Israel.
B’nai Brith has launched a powerful new tool to help quickly report hate in Canada. Utilizing the hotline, or the downloadable app, you can instantly report instances of both digital hate and in-person hate crimes that target our community. Hotline information is available here.
Hillel Ontario is holding a virtual town hall on Wednesday, February 26th. You can register at the link and find out how you can continue to support Jewish students on university campuses. Learn more about what Hillel is doing to protect our students and provide them with joyful Jewish experiences in the midst of our ongoing crisis.
The Jewish Security Network is offering ongoing training for professionals and lay leaders alike. If you would like to be educated and trained on how to protect Jewish communal institutions in Toronto, you can submit an application at the link. Acceptance is not guaranteed, and a background check will be performed.
