Pesach 5785 at Holy Blossom Temple
Let all Come and Eat!
If you have a place at your table to welcome others to join you for these holy day meals, or if you are a Holy Blossom member and need a place to go for seder and would like to be hosted by a fellow congregant, contact Marni Turner, Director of Membership and Community Engagement ([email protected], or 416-789-3291 ext. 232) by Monday, April 7, so we can make some joyful, meaningful matches. There’s always room at the table for one more as we fulfill the mitzvah of hachnasat orchim, or hospitality.
Food Drive to Support our Tiny Pantries
March 17-April 7
As you prepare for Pesach, support the HBT Tiny Pantries by donating your chametz and more. We accept all non-perishable food items.
How is this year different from all other years?
A Seder Advocacy Project
This year, the Holy Blossom Advocacy Committee encourages you to invite a guest to your seder: one of your friends, neighbours, or co-workers who is not Jewish! Whether it is their first Seder or they are regular attendees, opening our homes this Passover is more important than ever.
When asked, non-Jews who stand up to antisemitic ideologies overwhelmingly shared that it was their relationships with Jewish friends which motivated their convictions.
Add an extra chair to your seder table and utilize our new “How is this year different from all other years?” resource card to open the door to a meaningful conversation.
Together, we plant seeds for the future and stand up for the Canada we believe in.
Host an Israeli Newcomer for Passover Seder (through JIAS)
If you are interested in hosting a newcomer family—whether they are celebrating Passover Seder in Canada for the first time or have arrived within the past two years—please fill out the form here. JIAS will do their best to match you with a family for a meaningful holiday meal.
They will be in touch by March 24 (three weeks before Erev Pesach) to confirm if you’ve been matched.
Thank you for your generosity in making this holiday special for a newcomer family! If you have any questions, please email [email protected]!
