Travel and Volunteer in Israel 2024
In the next several months, there are many different service missions to Israel that members of Holy Blossom Temple can take part in. They range from small and privately organized, to congregational, and even Canada-wide. Please see below for how you can travel to Israel in the early months of 2024 and make a difference in the Jewish State.
Holy Blossom Brotherhood Solidarity Mission to Israel
with Cantor Rosen and Rabbi Kaye
Dates: April 8-14, 2024
Cantor Rosen and Rabbi Kaye will be travelling to Israel with Holy Blossom Temple Brotherhood, to accomplish 4 major goals; witnessing, volunteering, comforting, and understanding what has been broken.
Over 7 days, including Shabbat in Jerusalem, Brotherhood members will have the opportunity to meet with the families of hostages and victims of October 7th, hear their stories and learn the message they need the world to know. We will travel to the Gaza envelope and see some of the destruction wrecked by Hamas terrorists and then participate in rebuilding efforts and agricultural volunteerism.
We will visit first responders at Magen David Adom, give blood, provide food for the soldiers, and bring needed supplies with us from Canada to Israel. Our visit to the Kotel and Mount Herzl will take on new meaning in an Israel at war, and we will be hosted by other Reform Congregations as they share the stories of their lives in the aftermath of October 7th.
Along the way we will reforge bonds and establish lasting relationships on a trip that none of us will ever be able to forget. Fearless Israeli rabbis and educators will join us throughout the trip to provide testimony, context, and the Torah of this moment.
