A member of Holy Blossom is helping assist a family from Afghanistan (mother, father, 3-year-old child) and is seeking our support in providing clothing and household goods. The mother is expecting another baby in mid-October. We are seeking the following:

• All furniture to stock a one-bedroom apartment (small dining table and chairs, sofa, chair, coffee table, TV, lamps, dresser, etc.)
• Everything to stock a kitchen including pots, pans, dishes, small appliances (such as kettle, toaster oven, microwave), dishes, glasses, cutlery, mixing bowls, garbage can, etc.
• Everything to stock a bathroom including towels, bath mat, small garbage can, etc.
• Household cleaning supplies (such as for kitchen and bathroom) and stock items (such as tin foil, baggies, storage containers, spices, condiments, etc.)
• Everything for a baby including a car seat, stroller, crib, bassinet, clothing, blankets, towels, etc.
• Clothing including full winter gear – we are just gathering sizes for the husband, wife, and child and will send another message about clothing in a few days. They will need newborn-size baby clothing and winter gear.

This Welcome Group is also seeking a couple more volunteers to actively support this family in their transition to life in Canada.
