Honouring Eric Roher z”l
We Mourn the Passing of Temple President, Eric Roher z”l

With deep sorrow and profound gratitude for a life of meaning, leadership, and devotion, Holy Blossom Temple mourns the passing of our beloved President, Eric Roher z”l.
Eric’s life was inextricably woven into the fabric of Holy Blossom Temple. A proud, multi-generational member, Eric often spoke of his “Holy Blossom story.” From his earliest days in our religious school to his years of dedicated leadership, Eric was shaped by our congregation, and in turn, he shaped it.
We gathered around the Roher family to comfort them and to honour Eric’s life of service on Sunday, April 26. You can watch the meaningful service below.

Because Eric was so devoted to Holy Blossom Temple, the family welcomes donations to be made in Eric’s honour at Holy Blossom to either Excellence in Education or Outreach & Next Gen, as well as to Princess Margaret Hospital. May the memory of Temple President Eric Roher, Arieh ben David v’Lailah, be an enduring blessing.

Having worked with Eric through his co-editorship of Education & Law Journal, I can attest that he was a gentleman and a scholar.
Sympathies and blessings to his wife and family.
May Eric’s memory be a blessing.

I had Eric as my lawyer and he was excellent. He was a partner in my Dad’s law firm Borden and Elliott.
Rest In Peace, sir.
I met Eric only once, when he interviewed me for a summer job at Borden & Eliott in 1990. All these years later, I still remember his pleasant and kind manner. He was a real gentleman.
After living through July 2, 2016, I declared it to be the happiest day of my life. Michael’s and my son Louis and Beth and Eric’s daughter Jessica were married. Every single aspect of the day was perfect.
Among several competing highlights, the father of the bride’s speech was a knock-out. Eric crafted the history of Jess and Louis into a hillarious story. He laid down a plot line, beginning with suspicion, then capitulation, then acceptance, culminating in love and friendship from the whole Roher family towards our son.
During the outpouring of love and grief at Eric’s funeral and Shiva I have come to know the larger Roher clan better – family and friends. To know them is to love them. To know them is to respect them. Each conversation, each speech, revealed something new to treasure. Thank you Beth and Eric for enfolding not only Louis, but Michael and Adam and me into your outstanding circle. We miss you Eric.
I was out of the country for Eric’s service, and I regret that I could not attend. I will miss Eric’s company during TRX and spin classes at the JCC. Rest in peace, kind sir.
