Teen Travel @ Holy Blossom for the 2024-2025 academic year
We are excited to offer these meaningful group travel and peer experiences to all our teens this coming year. Please complete this brief form to indicate your interest in the following opportunities:
Grade 8&9 Montreal Trip: November 8-10, 2024
Holy Blossom students will join peers from other Reform congregations in the GTA to spend a weekend in Montreal which will include a Friday night Shabbat experience at Temple Emanu-el Beth Shalom, exploring the Jewish community and history of Montreal, as well as touring the city as a whole – Biodome, Old Montreal, and more, while making connections and friendships with one another!
Approximate cost of trip $700
Grade 9-12 Confirmation/Teen Israel Trip: March 7-16, 2025
Our teen Israel experience takes place every other year. Historically this trip has been a Confirmation (grade 10) trip, but because of the alternate years it is offered, students can participate starting in grade 9. This Israel experience is designed for both first-timers and teens who have visited Israel previously with family. A peer experience in Israel is unlike any other Israel travel. This trip will encompass the ‘must have’ sights, as well as unique encounters with Israelis both Jewish and not, to expose participants to some of the many complexities that exist. There will be some volunteering, as well as an exciting opportunity to celebrate Purim in Israel!
This year we are partnering with sister Reform congregations in the GTHA, which will add an opportunity to experience all Israel has to offer with both Holy Blossom friends and a wider group of peers.
The approximate cost of the trip all included is $8000, however, Holy Blossom will be subsidizing part of the fees for our teens, and financial assistance is available.
Grade 11&12 L’Taken Canada, Ottawa: March 28-31, 2025
The RJCC (Reform Jewish Communities of Canada) with help from the Religious Action Center in Washington DC is creating a L’Taken Social Justice Seminar in Ottawa for Canadian teens. Mirrored off the American program, this will be an opportunity for teens to engage in social justice issues that are pertinent to Canada. Participants will learn about these issues why they are important to us as Jews, and how to engage with our government system to advocate for change. This experience is open to Jewish teens from across Canada.
Approximate cost $1200
