HBTogether Groups
HBTogether Groups, also sometimes called Chavurot, are Holy Blossom Temple members who come together within the larger congregational family over shared interests and identities. HBTogether Groups are one of the best ways to add even more meaning to your Temple life and to stay connected.
HBTogether is seeking new group leaders!
HBTogether Hybrid Book Club
Led by Caroline Ingvaldsen, join us in the Max Enkin Library at Holy Blossom Temple or on Zoom.
We discuss a different title each month; newcomers are always welcome, even if you haven’t read the book.
Please click here for a list of the books for 2025/2026, which are all available in a variety of formats at the public library. For further information, please contact Caroline Ingvaldsen at [email protected]
Daily l’chaim, Jews, News and Shmooze on Zoom Led by Jack Kugelmass, raise a glass or teacup with fellow congregants over Zoom. Join an informal conversation about Jewish life and times in Israel and the Jewish diaspora. Every day, we explore new topics and resources in the broader Jewish community.
Bereavement Discussion Group led by Jack Kugelmass, MSW, immediately following our 6:00 PM evening service on Zoom, a supportive environment to find a new insight into the meaning of loss.
Whether a loved one died recently or long ago, we hope you will take comfort in this opportunity to find meaning and motivation in memory.
Suicide Loss Survivors
Led by Lise Sklar and Abigail Nemzer, this group is for anyone who has lost someone to suicide. It is a safe place to share memories, stories and experiences with others who have been there.
Ukelele Group
Led by Susan Baskin, the HBT Ukulele Group welcomes everyone- but given that we have been together for several years, people do need to have experience playing the ukulele to keep up
Knifty Knitters
Led by Anne Dublin and Kathryn Collins. Would you like to learn how to knit or sharpen your knitting skills? Anne Dublin will offer three consecutive sessions in January to Holy Blossom members, after which the group will meet bi-monthly. If you haven’t picked up knitting needles for a long time or want to learn the basics, this is your perfect opportunity! Whether you’d like to knit a baby sweater for our new Little Blossoms, we can match your skill level to the project. Some needles, yarn and patterns will be available upon request.
The Village: Parenting circle for parents and babies up to 18 months
Led by Kelly Baron and Kayla Miller. Looking for a relaxed way to get out of the house and connect with other parents on parental leave? This causal group meets at weekly “drop-ins” in a bright open space at Holy Blossom and is all about you and your baby. /We’ll gather to chat, play, share experiences, and support each other. Come as you are, babies and all, and help shape a community that works for you.
Draft & Grow: Workshop for writers and aspiring writers
Led by Sharon Neiss Arbess and Maxanne Ezer. Whether you are in the process of writing or even just contemplating writing fiction, non-fiction or a dissertation, meet monthly with your Holy Blossom peer writers to share writing challenges, writing ideas and pitches. You will also have the opportunity to jump-start your creativity by writing together to a variety of prompts and sharing your responses. The focus of this group is to provide positive and supportive feedback.
HBTogether is growing with our congregation, and we need new leaders to launch new groups! Is there a hobby, identity, or topic that you would like to gather with other Temple members to explore? Would you like to step into a leadership role at Temple? Groups run independently and can meet virtually, in person or hybrid at least 8 times per year.
There are many other community groups through the Temple, like Dorot, Hatziporim and YAD, that are not part of HBTogether.
