HBT Helps Israeli Newcomers to Network and Find Employment
Holy Blossom Temple partnered with JIAS to host a Speed Mentoring event at the synagogue on January 20. The program connected Israeli newcomers with dedicated Holy Blossom mentors. This initiative provides newcomers with an opportunity to expand their professional networks and build connections within the Jewish community.
The evening featured lively conversations as participants rotated among mentor tables every ten minutes, allowing for focused, one-on-one discussions. Mentors shared their expertise, supporting newcomers navigating the Canadian job market. Conversations ranged from job search techniques and interview norms to LinkedIn strategies and insights into specific industries.
JIAS stated that they deeply appreciate the HBT mentors’ time and dedication. The support of volunteers like them is crucial in easing the challenges newcomers face as they integrate into a new life and pursue their career goals in Canada. Hundreds of Israelis have arrived recently looking for employment in a variety of professions.
We look forward to seeing you at the next event!
