As the war in Gaza continues, many Canadian universities are preparing for the possibilities of occupations, sit-ins, and demonstrations on their campuses. At some, like McGill and Concordia, there are already encampments, while universities like McMaster, TMU, and the University of Ottawa are likely next. Some of these actions fall into the right of peaceful protest and assembly, but we have all seen the hate-filled and antisemitic activity which has rocked universities across the United States. None of us want to see that chaos and cruelty run unchecked in Canada.
To let our voices be heard at universities across the province, Hillel Ontario is preparing numerous resources for community members, donors, and alumni. The first of these is a personalized letter to university presidents, that you can create here!
To stand with our students THIS SUNDAY, May 5th at 1:00 pm, register here for a rally organized by Canadian Women Against Antisemitism. Location will be announced to those who register.
