Advocacy @ HBT: Survey on Jew Hatred targeting children from the Special Envoy; B’nai Brith’s request to Canadian Mayors; and MP Don Stewart at Holy Blossom Temple.
- The Special Envoy on Holocaust Remembrance and Combatting Antisemitism, supported by UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, has opened a confidential survey to discuss antisemitic incidents targeting children. Please share and respond!
- B’nai Brith writes to Canadian Mayors and asks them to put a stop to Al-Quds Day celebrations in Canada.
- March 30th at 10:30 am, join Toronto-St. Paul’s MP, Don Stewart, for a round table conversation outside Holy Grounds.
While there have been well-documented reports of antisemitism in Ontario schools, official government data is needed to further combat Jew hatred in Canada. The Special Envoy on Holocaust Remembrance and Combatting Antisemitism, working with UJA, has opened a vital survey to report incidents of antisemitic experiences in Ontario schools. If you are a parent of a child in an Ontario school, please take part in this confidential and anonymous survey. The survey closes on March 31st, so please share and fill it out in a timely fashion!
B’nai Brith has organized a petition to Mayors Chow, Plante, Sim and Gondek asking them to ban public rallies for Al-Quds Day. Al-Quds Day rallies have a ‘well-documented history of hateful rhetoric, glorification of terrorism, and incitement to violence.’ Now, more than ever, Canadian streets are not the place to glorify violence in Israel. You can add your voice to this petition here.
Holy Blossom Temple has a long history of serving as a hub for our elected officials to interact with the community. We are pleased to continue this tradition by inviting our MP, Don Stewart, for a neighbourhood check-up. He will be available on Sunday, March 30th from 10:30 to noon, outside of Holy Grounds Café in the Schwartz-Reisman Atrium. Please join us.
