Gather with our Rabbis and Cantors for solemn prayer and reflection on this day when we remember the destruction of Jerusalem’s Temple and mourn the exile that lasted for two thousand years.
The Book of Lamentations asks: How?! How is this possible? It’s haunting poetry and beautiful chant still resonate with us today.
Following the morning service, in place of breakfast, Rabbi Splansky will offer small group discussion and learning on the themes of Jewish power and powerlessness. The food costs that are saved by fasting will go to support the work of bringing greater justice and righteousness to Israel. Tzedakah will be sent to the Israel Religious Action Centre, the Reform movement’s advocacy arm in Jerusalem. https://www.irac.org
