Staffing updates to our Professional Team
We welcome Abigail Carpenter-Winch to our Senior Leadership Team as the Director of Membership and Community Engagement. Abigail is a natural community builder. She has served in various positions at the Danforth Jewish Circle, Ve’ahavta and at Temple Beth Zion (Brookline, MA). For 2019-2020, Abigail was awarded the URJ Roswell Klal Yisrael Fellowship, which is the only global communal gathering for Reform engaged young adults (ages 21-30) to collaborate on and generate new ideas to impact Jewish life.
Abigail will be working closely with Darren Sukonick, VP of the Department of Membership, and a host of other volunteer leaders, to think and behave strategically around membership acquisition, engagement, and retention.
Abigail replaces Tema Smith, who has moved on to become the Director of Professional Development for InterFaith Family.
At the same time, Cindy Zimmer has expanded her role to become Manager of Member and Donor Services. Cindy not only continues to be an integral part of helping to meet the needs of our members and to grow our membership, but she also assumes the important role of helping to integrate our fundraising practices into our CRM system.
We also welcome Anna Bruder, who recently moved to Toronto from Vancouver where she was active in the Jewish community, especially in Holocaust education and awareness. She recently graduated from Simon Fraser University with a history honours degree where she focused on Holocaust studies. Anna’s excited to become an active member of the Toronto Jewish community and the community at Holy Blossom Temple as she prepares to go to rabbinical school.
