Shabbat B’Yachad
Because Shabbat is for families @ Holy Blossom Temple
B’Yachad means “together.”
Shabbat B’Yachad is Holy Blossom’s way of ensuring that families with school-aged children feel welcome, included, and valued within our main Kabbalat Shabbat services. On select Friday nights, families begin the service together. Partway through the evening—timed to the sermon and concluding prayers—children are invited to join a meaningful breakout experience.
This isn’t childcare. It’s a spiritually aligned, developmentally appropriate engagement that mirrors the themes of the service and helps children participate in Shabbat in ways that are joyful, reflective, and hands-on.
Who It’s For
Shabbat B’Yachad is designed for families with children in Grades 1–5, with younger siblings welcome with a caregiver.
Students in Grade 6 and up—those preparing to become B’nei Mitzvah—are encouraged to remain in the main service, participating fully in the prayers and music as they grow into this next stage of Jewish life.
In short: the whole family can come! Some will stay, some will step out for the breakout, and everyone will share in the spirit of Shabbat—b’yachad, together.
How It Works
Begin the service together for Kabbalat Shabbat.
Breakout at V’Shamru: children head to a nearby space for a thematic Shabbat experience.
Return together for closing blessings and, when applicable, our communal Shabbat dinner.
Come Celebrate—Together
Shabbat B’Yachad is all about being b’yachad—together as a community, across generations.
Join us for music, meaning, and a Shabbat experience your whole family can share.
