Pesach 5784 at Holy Blossom Temple
Seder Resources
Chag Pesach Sameach!
Our Clergy team has collected numerous resources from some of the brightest and most thoughtful institutions and thinkers in our Jewish World. Each is attempting to provide guidance, solace, and comfort during a Passover unlike any other. We know that the resources below will provoke powerful conversation around your Seder table.
Let all Come and Eat!
If you need a place to go for seder and would like to be hosted by a fellow congregant, or if you have a place at your table to welcome others to join you for these holy day meals, contact Marni Turner, Director of Membership and Community Engagement ([email protected], or 416-789-3291 ext. 232) by Monday, April 8, so we can make some joyful, meaningful matches. There’s always room at the table for one more as we fulfill the mitzvah of hachnasat orchim, or hospitality.
“How is this year different from all other years?”
A Seder Advocacy Project
This year, the Holy Blossom Advocacy Committee encourages you to invite a guest to your seder: one of your friends, neighbours, or co-workers who is not Jewish! Whether it is their first seder, or they are regular attendees, opening our homes this Passover is more important than ever.
When asked, non-Jews who stand up to antisemitic ideologies overwhelmingly shared that it was their relationships with Jewish friends which motivated their convictions.
Add an extra chair to your seder table and utilize our new “How is this year different from all other years?” resource card to open the door to a meaningful conversation.
Together we plant seeds for the future and stand up for the Canada we believe in.
The Haggadah Collective at the Judaica & Art Shop
Passover is almost here. Do you have everything you need? If not, the Judaica & Art Shop has your back. On Sunday, April 7, 10-12, stop by the Schwartz/Reisman Atrium at Holy Blossom Temple to see the Haggadah Collective by Pearl Richman and Maxie Richman.
Preview the items on the Shop’s webpage.
The Shop will also be open for you to see the Passover collection.
Food Drive to Support our Tiny Pantries
April 8-21
The Holy Blossom Tiny Pantry is one way our congregation supports Tikkun Olam and gives back to our community members who are in need. Through a dedicated group of volunteers, the pantries at the corner of Bathurst and Dewbourne are stocked daily with food generously donated in the Janice Rotman Tzedakah Centre (found at the Ava Road Main Entrance).
As you prepare your homes for Pesach this year, please support the HBT Tiny Pantries by bringing us your chametz and more. These food items will be stored during the holiday and used to fill our pantries throughout the coming months. We accept all non-perishable food items such as canned beans and vegetables, canned tuna fish, peanut butter, pasta, and rice.
NCJWC Toronto Passover Food Drive 2024
For 41 years, NCJWC Toronto has been preparing and delivering Passover Food Boxes to vulnerable members of our community.
This Annual Food Drive is truly a community effort, encompassing hundreds of volunteers and supported with generous funding and food donations from people across the GTA. From a grassroots initiative in 1983, the Passover Food Drive has grown exponentially, ensuring that the needy members of our community can celebrate and enjoy Passover with dignity.

Pesach Holy-Day Fun Breakout Rooms! For 0-12 year olds
Tuesday, April 23 & Monday, April 29, during Torah Service (11:15 am-12:15 pm approx)
Bring the whole family to Pesach Yom Tov services, and have your children experience our fun and engaging breakout activities!
Our Little Blossoms (ages 0-3) will bring a parent along and enjoy creative programming, music and stories with our YEC kindergarten teacher Karen, and our Head Songleader Avishai.
Older children ages 4-11 will have the opportunity to participate in a special program in partnership with L’Dance! These breakout activities will allow children to get a taste of the L’Dance Passover Break Camp, which includes Passover crafts and learning, as well as movement and games.
Children who participate in either breakout room will rejoin their families in the Main Sanctuary for the conclusion of services and for kosher l’Pesach kiddush lunch afterwards. We are excited to see our young friends of all ages mark the Yom Tov together with our congregation.
To register your child to the ‘L’Dance Breakout Room’ please fill out the form here: L’Dance Breakaway Camp 2024
