Our Big, Audacious, Chutzpahdic Goal. Where Renewal of Space and Spirit meet.
Together, we have undertaken the largest transformational synagogue building project in Canada’s history. Did you know that? And as you can see from our latest photos by clicking right here, it’s taking shape beautifully.
You can really get a sense of the Phase 1 spaces now, from our sunlit central Atrium (the living room of Temple) to our new library, to our new Holy Grounds café, to our brand new Family Chapel and Youth Lounge. All in a LEED Silver Certified, environmentally-friendly structure.
And just for a moment, dream with us about how you might use these spaces. A new and improved structural form will spur on new ways that our members and guests can experience Temple life, and we know that both our wide-ranging (and best in class) programming and your own patterns of how you use our campus, will evolve.
Our Atrium is an open, inviting (and wi-fi equipped) space, where you can schmooze all day with friends and family as you enjoy a phenomenal cup of Holy Grounds coffee and breathe in the clean air that our Green Wall helps provide. Sit back and listen to the happy sounds of our Little Blossoms as they participate in story time in our new Library. Dream about celebrating your family simcha with us in one of our beautiful new spaces. And contemplate the seamless way our architects have woven together the old and the new of Holy Blossom, enabling the three key parts of our campus to come together: our 1938 Beit Tefillah (House of Prayer); our 1960 Beit Midrash (House of Learning); and our 2018 Beit Knesset (House of Gathering).
And just a brief note on the construction progress front … 98% of the glass paneling for our Atrium is now installed, including the entire curtain wall, which makes up the spectacular entrance on the Ava Road side of the building. This is the gorgeous glass wall/entrance you can see in the conceptual rendering we’ve been featuring for the last few years, and the real thing is truly a sight to behold. It matches the rendering to a tee.
Have a few minutes of free time? We encourage you to drop in to Temple at your leisure this summer to have a look at the construction progress for yourself. Or click here to view either of our 2 real-time construction cameras.
As always, we thank you for your continued support (financial and otherwise) of our shared Renewal Project.
