The Navigator Program
A warm welcome and a helpful connection
Joining or rejoining a synagogue can feel exciting and a little overwhelming. The Navigator Program is here to make it easier.
Navigators are volunteer members of Holy Blossom who help new and recently returned members feel oriented, welcomed, and at home during their first months in the community.
What Navigators Do
Navigators are friendly, knowledgeable members of our congregation who help answer everyday questions and make personal connections.
They may:
- Reach out to welcome you personally
- Answer practical questions about programs, services, and spaces
- Help you find your way around the building
- Make introductions and share suggestions
- Be visible on Shabbat and holidays, wearing a Navigator pin
There’s no agenda and no pressure, just a warm point of connection.
For New and Recently Returned Members
When you join Holy Blossom, you’re invited to be paired with a Navigator. If you said “not now” or if your circumstances have changed, you’re always welcome to opt in later.
A Navigator can be especially helpful if you:
- Are new to Holy Blossom or returning after time away
- Want a friendly point of contact
- Have questions, but aren’t sure who to ask
- Would like help getting oriented at your own pace

Become a Navigator
Navigators are volunteers who enjoy welcoming others and helping people feel comfortable in community spaces.
You don’t need to be an expert, just approachable, thoughtful, and willing to share your experience of Holy Blossom.
As a Navigator, you might:
- Be paired with a new or returning member
- Check in periodically during their first few months
- Be available on Shabbat or at programs when you’re onsite
- Help model the warmth and openness of our community
Volunteer as a Navigator! Email Abigail Nemzer at [email protected] to learn more about becoming a Navigator for a new member.
