SUMMARY:Film Screening of The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue
DESCRIPTION:Film Screening of The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue\nWednesday\, December 3\, 7:00 pm \nJoin us for a screening of the TIFF Award-Winning Documentary\, The Road Between Us. \nAt first uninvited from TIFF\, The Road Between Us was ultimately shown and then won the People’s Choice Award for Best Documentary. The film brings us directly into the life of Noam Tibon\, a retired Israeli general\, who risked everything on October 7th to rescue his son\, daughter-in-law\, and granddaughters from their home on Kibbutz Nahal Oz. \nRegister here \nThe screening of The Road Between Us is generously sponsored by Harriette Laing. \nAs part of our ongoing efforts to advocate for our community and build understanding about the horrors of October 7th\, we encourage you to invite and bring your non-Jewish friends and family to this film screening. While it is vital for the extended Jewish community to be part of this evening’s program\, we can not arrest the spread of Jew-hatred and violence alone. We must continue to build meaningful partnerships and alliances at multiple levels. From grassroots connections between friends to interfaith partnerships with like-minded groups and beyond. \nPlease be advised. While the director and creators of this film have edited some of the footage to remove its most graphic elements\, “The Road Between Us” includes scenes which were livestreamed directly by Hamas and its allies during the attack on October 7th. Such moments include the murder of civilians\, and the bodies of victims are seen multiple times. It remains inappropriate for children. \n

SUMMARY:The Alef-Bets of Jewish Life
DESCRIPTION:The Alef-Bets of Jewish Life (Includes Adult B’nei Mitzvah)\nMondays\, 6:30 pm (hybrid) \n  \nThis class is designed to be an educational experience for those looking to enhance their Jewish knowledge and build a community of learning within our congregation. \nThis rich program has many exciting components\, most notably an Adult B’nei Mitzvah component for those who wish. \nParticipants may pick and choose the “track/s” they wish to participate in\, one of which is a full Adult B’nei Mitzvah experience\, the Beit Midrash\, Hebrew tutoring\, and Trope. \nIt is suitable for all our congregants\, whether you have been part of Holy Blossom forever or joined us recently. \nThe Beit Midrash class will run most Monday nights following our 6:00 pm minyan\, taught by your Rabbis and Cantors. The schedule is below\, in-person and virtual. It is based on a curriculum of three of our central Jewish values—Torah (Study)\, Avodah (Worship)\, and G’milut Chassadim (Acts of Loving Kindness)—with an additional three sessions in April 2026 for the Adult B’nei Mitzvah cohort with Rabbi McCarroll. \nA light dinner will be provided during these sessions. \nSee below for the schedule. The Beit Midrash will be offered in-person and virtual. Hebrew and Trope will be in-person only\, but extra support will be available to catch up on missed sessions. You can deepen your study by signing up for any or all of these wonderful additional offerings! \nAs our Sages say: “zil gamoor” the rest is study – now go and learn! \n  \nPlease find the registration for all tracks HERE \nPricing is based on which elements you are participating in. \nTo sign up for the evening minyan Zoom\, click here.\nTo access the curriculum (subject to change)\, click here. \nFor any questions\, including regarding financial assistance or extra information\, please reach out to Rabbi Eliza McCarroll\, emccarroll@holyblossom.org \n  \n*UPDATED* CLASS SCHEDULE: \nBEIT MIDRASH (6:30-7:45 pm): November 3\, November 10\, November 17\, December 1\, December 8\, December 15\, January 26\, February 2\, February 9\nADULT B’NEI MITZVAH PREPARATION (6:30-7:45 pm): April 13\, 20\, 27 \nAdditionally\, you can deepen your experience with the following “add-on” sessions… \nTROPE with Cantorial Soloist Lindi Rivers (7:45-8:45 pm): January 26\, February 2\, February 9\nHEBREW with Dalia Alalouf (7:45-8:45 pm): November 3\, November 10\, November 17\, December 1\, December 8\, December 15\, April 13\, April 20\, April 27\nHEBREW HELP with Dalia Alalouf (6:30-7:30 pm): January 12\, January 19\, February 23\, March 9\, March 30.
