DESCRIPTION:Shir Lach Shar: A Poem Sings to You\nA Lunch & Learn with Cantorial Intern\, Will Brockman \nTwo weeks\, July 8 & 15\, 12:00 pm \nIn Hebrew\, the word shir can mean both “poem” and “song.” Join Cantorial Intern Will Brockman for a two-part class exploring the rich meeting place of Israeli poetry and music. \nTogether\, we will listen closely to Hebrew poems that have been set to music\, asking what happens when a poem begins to sing — and how music can deepen\, transform\, and reveal the meaning of the words. Along the way\, Will will share live musical offerings and invite us into the emotional world of Hebrew poetry and song. \nParticipants are welcome to attend one session or both. No previous Hebrew knowledge is required — only curiosity\, openness\, and a willingness to listen deeply. \nRegister here

He served our congregation with love and devotion for 41 years as its Senior Cantor and Music Director and then another 5 years as our Cantor Emeritus. \nTo honour his memory\, the Maissner family will be dedicating a memorial plaque at 5:30 pm before the Mincha Service on Wednesday\, July 8\, as part of our daily services. Please join us as we pay tribute to our beloved Beny.
