SUMMARY:Rosh Chodesh Iyar
DESCRIPTION:Rosh Chodesh Iyar\nFriday\, April 17\, 7:30 am \n  \nRosh Chodesh\, meaning head of the month\, is a holiday celebrating the arrival of a new moon. It is often celebrated by women as a day off from work. All genders are welcome to join Women of Holy Blossom and pray in solidarity with Israel’s Women of the Wall. Join Women of Holy Blossom in sacred worship for Shacharit services followed by a light breakfast. \nRosh Chodesh Iyar: Honouring Susan Mogil\nBy Gerry Prendergast \n\nSusan has a long\, if interrupted\, history with Holy Blossom Temple. Her parents\, Asher and Judith Leranbaum\, were long-time members. Susan attended religious school\, was confirmed and married here.\nSusan and Norman attend Shabbat services regularly and enjoy many cultural events at Temple. \nSusan volunteers as an Usher at Shabbat services and during the High Holy Days. She is a co-lead usher with me\, and I am very happy to have her by my side!! Her most active participation is on the archives committee\, which meets every Tuesday of the year with time off for the chagim. \nSusan was an early and steadfast supporter of the Torah Stitch by Stitch project. She was one of a team of proofreaders of completed panels. She assisted in keeping track of where the panels were in the world and communicating with many of the stitchers. \nSusan shared with me that she has always found close friends within the various synagogues she has been a member of. Having rejoined Holy Blossom in 2020\, she is a very welcome face to many of the congregation. I am honoured to present Susan as a Woman of Valour and my dear friend. \n  \nFor those planning on joining us in sacred worship online\, please click “Register Here” (below) to receive our new service links. You will be asked to provide your full name and email address as an enhanced security measure for our Online Daily Service participants. The Zoom links will be sent to the email address you provided in your registration. If it does not show in your inbox after registering\, please check your junk/spam folders. You will only need to register once for the new Daily Service Zoom links. If the links are updated again in future\, you may need to register again to receive them. If you are joining us for the first time\, we recommend you register in advance and test out the link before services and make sure your name is listed correctly. If you are unsure how to do that\, click here. \nIf you are still having trouble\, please email JoAnne Bieman at jbieman@holyblossom.org \nRegister here!\nAs Rosh Chodesh is considered a special women’s holiday\, Women of Holy Blossom will honour its inspiring\, trailblazing\, and amazing women. Each month\, during Rosh Chodesh services\, we will celebrate one woman from our Temple whose dedication and good work have helped shape our community. Please watch for these tributes in the “Life @ Holy Blossom” email! \nFeel free to contact Women of Holy Blossom with questions and comments. Looking forward to celebrating together. \nThe Women of Valour Series is generously sponsored by Robert Lantos in memory of his mother Agnes Lantos z”l
