Welcoming Others to Our Table
There’s a saying: better to build a longer table than a higher wall. We’ll do just that on Friday, September 12 at our Young Professionals Allyship Shabbat. This evening is about extending the table and welcoming friends who aren’t Jewish to share in the beauty and rhythm of Shabbat. Bring a colleague, partner, or neighbour to experience the joy of Jewish tradition in good company.
We are especially delighted to welcome our friends from Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, with Rev. Dayle Barrett and young professionals from his community joining us for this special night of food, friendship, and sacred time.
Whether it’s your guest’s first time seeing Shabbat candles lit or their hundredth time asking, “What exactly is challah?”, this is a chance to celebrate what it means to be good neighbours and better allies.
Our Shabbat dinner will be a vegetarian pasta feast. If dietary restrictions are noted in advance, accommodations will be available.
