Welcome, Rabbi Jordan Helfman
Saturday, August 16, 10:30 am
Sermon for Shabbat Eikev, 5785
“Comparative Suffering: Who Has It Worse Now, Canadian or British Jewry?”
We look forward to welcoming Rabbi Helfman and his family for a summer visit. Many will remember his kindness, his thoughtfulness, and his humour. Over seven good years, Rabbi Helfman made his mark on Holy Blossom and the greater Jewish community of Toronto. Come hear his rabbinic reflections on the news of the day — here, there, and everywhere.
Rabbi Jordan Helfman is in his fourth year at Oaks Lane Reform Synagogue, on the edge of North East London towards Essex. He is currently the Vice-Chair of the Assembly of Reform Rabbis and Cantors and the Co-Vice Chair of Arzenu Olami. Each summer, he loves returning to Holy Blossom Temple, where he served as Assistant then Associate Rabbi, so he can visit with the community, eat challah with streusel, and cinnamon raisin bagels with smoked salmon.
