Understanding Antisemitism in Canada

Monday, January 22, 7:30 pm

We must understand antisemitism to talk about it and to fight against it. Presented by the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC), this workshop will help you better understand the basics of antisemitism, its history, and its impact on Jewish Canadians. We will also cover the topic of antisemitism in the workplace and how we can combat this. FSWC is one of Canada’s leading human rights and social advocacy organizations whose mission is to build and more inclusive and respectful Canada. Antisemitism education is a core part of their mission. In response to the recent rise in antisemitism, FSWC has been at the forefront of advocacy issues, while simultaneously providing antisemitism workshops for corporations, school administration and staff, university faculties and administrations, as well as government agencies. Attendees of this workshop will be better able to talk about antisemitism to Jewish and non-Jewish friends, colleagues, and neighbours. Through an enhanced personal understanding of this topic, participants can help further anti-hate initiatives in their workplaces and communities through discussions about antisemitism and advocating for formal antisemitism training.
