“THAT FEELING when your experience as a Jew is denied, dismissed, or distorted …”

September 3 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Traumatic Invalidation in the Jewish Community after October 7: Jewish Resilience and a Path to Healing

An Evening of Learning and Conversation with Dr. Miri Bar-Halpern, Clinical Psychologist, Lecturer in Psychology Harvard Medical School

When: Wednesday, September 3, 7:30-9:00 pm
Where: Holy Blossom Temple, 1950 Bathurst St., Toronto

Since October 7, you’ve likely experienced a profoundly unsettling feeling in even your closest circles: Denial, dismissal, and distortion of our lived experience as Jews. You know it’s real, but others act like it’s not.

You’re not alone – and you’re not imagining it.

It’s called traumatic invalidation, a real and recognized psychological phenomenon.

Join Dr. Miri Bar-Halpern as we come together as a community for a powerful presentation to name what is happening, understand its impact and explore how we begin to heal. This program will be of interest to all in our community including educators, parents, and anyone who feels their Jewish identity and well-being have been impacted.

Cost is $18 payable at the registration link below. Refreshments will be served.

For those who can’t join us in person, the event will also be livestreamed. The link to the livestream will be provided when you register.

Please register here (whether attending in person or online) to join us.
