The Bible as Drama: Sacred Stories Transformed into Theatre

Four weeks: January 15, 22, 29, and February 5, 7:00 pm
The narratives of the Hebrew Bible continue to serve as dynamic source material for the stage: Joseph, Moses, the Judge Gideon, King David, the Prophet Amos and Queen Esther- among others – have each found their reincarnations in the theatre. During four hour-long sessions, we will explore various dramatic texts and reflect on how they serve to amplify – or diminish – the power of their Biblical sources.
