Talking to Our Families and Friends about Israel

With Dr. Betsy Stone

Monday, March 4, 7:30 pm

For many of us, the brutal Hamas massacre of October 7 and the war that has followed have highlighted divides in our families and friend circles that reveal shockingly different understandings of Israel’s history and current moment. These divides are so confusing and painful, especially when we encounter them with those people we love and cherish most. The divides aren’t just intellectual; they are deeply emotional, especially when our emotions are running so high. How can we talk to our closest people over these divides? When is it helpful to draw boundaries around these topics, and how can we do that effectively? How can we work on our closest relationships while understanding how anxiety and shame might affect them? When it is our obligation to keep arguing for our values, and when is it better to take a break? Holy Blossom Temple warmly welcomes Dr. Betsy Stone to facilitate this important conversation for our community. This event is ONLINE ONLY.
