Join our interfaith leaders for personal and practical discussions addressing our mental health and spiritual well-being.

Topics will include: how to re-build community, re-establishing value and meaning in our lives and explore how to reach out again to neighbours and those in need of support.

 

Moderator:

Rabbi Tina Grimberg has been the spiritual leader at Congregation Darchei Noam for 20 years. Originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, she moved to North America at the age of 16. Before entering the rabbinate, she worked as a family therapist specializing in women’s issues. Ordained as a Rabbi in 2001 at the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion, she has embraced her role as a teacher of Jewish heritage and strongly supports and promotes respect and mutual understanding among all faiths.

 

Panelists:

Rabbi Bill Tepper is Adjunct Rabbi at Holy Blossom Temple. He has served as a Rabbi in a number of congregations in the United States and Canada. He has taught in religious schools, adult education settings and has a deep interest in enhancing interfaith discourse. Rabbi Tepper was ordained in 2008 at Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati.

Dr. Catherine Brooks is Anishnawbe Ke and a member of the Nipissing First Nation. She believes in the power of Indigenous culture and community action for achieving self-determination to restore well-being for individuals and communities. Elder Brooks is an educator and consultant and works as a traditional youth counsellor at Anishnawbe Health Toronto. She is currently Elder-in Residence at St. Matthew’s United Church in Toronto.

Shakyh Yusuf Badat is an Imam and Director of Religious Affairs at the Islamic Foundation of Toronto. Under his leadership, IFT provides extensive and outstanding programs in community outreach, education and recreational activities for youth. Born and raised in Toronto, Shaykh Badat has studied under renowned scholars and has received several formal authorizations in the sacred sciences.

Pastor Jenni King Feheley is the Director of Community Building and Spiritual Engagement at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church in Toronto. Jenni promotes Biblical explorations, engages in pastoral care and is passionate about community, interfaith dialogue and the spiritual journey. She is an accomplished storyteller and teacher.
