From Hazzanuth to Tango

Kabbalat Shabbat service will highlight the compositions of Louis Lewandowski and visiting Kantor Isidoro Abramowicz, Director of the Cantorial Program at The Abraham Geiger Kolleg, Potsdam, Germany.
Service will be followed by dinner (reservations required) and a concert, From Hazzanuth to Tango with Kantor Abramowicz.

Isidoro Abramowicz Cantor
Isidoro Abramowicz is working as Cantor at the Synagogue Pestalozzistraße and is also the director of the Cantorial School at the Abraham Geiger College in Berlin. The Argentinian born singer studied piano at the National Conservatory Carlos Lopez Buchardo. At the same time, he studied choir conducting and singing and performed as a soloist in different operas and oratoria. He moved to Germany in 2000 to continue his vocal and choir conducting studies.
During his study time in Germany, he completed with Excellency a Masters in Jewish Studies at the Potsdam University and Cantorial studies at the Abraham Geiger Kolleg with a thesis on Jewish Liturgical Music: “Das Frankfurter Kaddisch: Ein liturgisches Kalendarium.”
As a Tango singer, he performs with different ensembles and is co-creator of the Trio Yehi Shalom, with the goal to create dialogue and to bring peace through music.
