The Luke Sklar Mental Health Initiative Presents:
“Mental Health Challenges for New and Expecting Parents – How to Stay Connected After Baby.”
With Guest Speaker Aliza Shupac
Registered Social Worker/Psychotherapist, MSW, RSW
Sunday, April 26, 2026, 10:30 am to 12:00 pm, in the Mishkan
The first year of parenthood is deeply meaningful, and also, deeply demanding.
While welcoming a baby brings moments of joy and purpose, it can also place new challenges and strains on a couple’s relationship. Sleep deprivation, shifting roles, hormonal changes, and new responsibilities can leave partners feeling disconnected or stretched thin. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or unsure how to support one another, you’re not alone.
Join Aliza Shupac, MSW, RSW, for a talk aimed at new parents and couples who want to stay connected during this intense season. We’ll explore:
- Practical strategies for navigating challenges while staying on the same team
- How to recognize the signs of perinatal mood or anxiety disorders
- Knowing when to reach out for professional help
- Reaching out to your village for support
There’ll also be plenty of time set aside for questions at the end of the session.
Please join us in the Mishkan and feel the warmth of community and connection with other parents in a similar stage of life.
Everyone is welcome to bring their little ones – a wiggle space will be provided in case you need to take them out.
Whether you’re navigating pregnancy, infancy, or toddlerhood … we’ll learn together, share together, and enjoy delicious snacks during and after the program.
For anyone who can’t make it in person, this event will also be livestreamed. The link to the livestream will be provided upon registration.
Please register here (whether attending in person or online) to join us.
