Holy Blossom Grandparents Project: The Art of Difficult Conversation

Monday, May 13, 6.30 pm

Join us for this very special edition of our Holy Blossom Grandparents Project class, which will be the final one of the series.

As we usher in Yom HaZikaron and Yom HaAtzmaut, we recognize that these Israeli holidays feel very different this year, and warrant extra care and attention as many of us seek to gain some skills and knowledge for having the difficult conversations arising in many of our families about our Jewish homeland at this challenging time.

We will also use this opportunity as a springboard for a further conversation, to hear about your needs and wants for Grandparent programming at Holy Blossom going forward. We look forward to making it a meaningful, engaging, and exciting experience for all of you.

Register here today!

Please note that our Yom HaZikaron/Yom HaAtzmaut commemorative service will be taking place as part of our regular daily minyan, at 6:00 pm. You are welcome to join us in the Herman Chapel.

More about the Project:
The Holy Blossom Grandparents Projects has been aimed at empowering our grandparents, particularly those with grandchildren who are disengaged for whatever reason (e.g. geographical distance), with tools to bring Jewish life to their families, utilizing tools and wisdom from the Jewish Grandparents Network resource. The class is further co-facilitated by social worker Doreen Saskin, former Holy Blossom ECC Director Pam Hamovitch, and Rabbi Eliza McCarroll.

It aims to connect grandparents with one another, to share their experiences, to learn and grow together, and to support each other through one of life’s greatest, most challenging, and most rewarding, life stages.
