High Holy Day Food Drive
During these days of awe help us provide for our neighbours and stock the Holy Blossom food pantries.
Holy Blossom Temple has placed two self-serve food pantries on the corner of Dewbourne and Bathurst Road to help provide food for our neighbours experiencing working poverty and food insecurity while enabling them to maintain their dignity. During these sacred days please help us stock the Janis Rotman Tzedakah Center with nutritious and quality shelf-stable food goods. We especially appreciate donations of…
Canned proteins! Canned fish and other lean meats (chicken, tuna, salmon) are high in protein and a great base for a healthy meal.
Peanut Butter! Heart healthy, good in all weather, and an excellent source of protein to help people through hard times.
Pasta and all-in-one boxes! Always appreciated and family-friendly, as are tomato/sauces to go with.
Whole Grain Breakfast Cereal: cereal is expensive, but it’s wonderful for families and for people on the go.
Beans, chickpeas, and more: dried beans are an excellent source of fibre and protein that can survive any weather!
During Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, there will be a clearly marked place to put your donations. If you are visiting us outside of worship times, you can place your donations directly into the Janis Rotman Tzedakah Centre, located directly inside the doors of our Ava Road entrance on the left hand.
