Dorot Presents: Book Signing of “The Covid Chronicles”

with Harriet Wolman

Monday, March 10, 11:00 am

It is with delight that Dorot hosts devoted HBT member, Harriet Wolman, to celebrate the release of her book “The COVID Chronicles”. It is a collection of the poetry that she has shared with us every week since 2019, a collection which continues to grow today.

Many of you receive Harriet’s weekly poems, which were her way of coping with the loss of her husband and the isolation of the pandemic, and which continue to bring comfort and connection to us all.

Harriet compiled her poems into a book, which has now been published and which we look forward to sharing with you.

REGISTER HERE to let us know you are attending in-person or online.

The Dorot program is generously sponsored by Carole and Jay Sterling and Family.

Morning tea will be provided!

ABOUT HARRIET WOLMAN

Wolman, originally a real estate conveyancer, honed her skills writing reports first as a school board trustee, and then as an assistant to three cabinet ministers. She also served almost 20 years on the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB), from 1993-2013.
In 2012 she was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for her years of public service.
After leaving the IRB, Wolman did private work with refugee claimants for immigration lawyers. She now volunteers at Matthew House, where she helps refugees prepare for their IRB hearings.
She counts herself twice-blessed in marriage, to both the late Frank Wolman for almost 40 years until his death, and after, to Henry Liss for six happy years before his passing.
She has been dubbed the “Poet Laureate” of her beloved Holy Blossom Temple, where she has been a lifelong, active member.
