Tateh / Father

Directed by Yaniv Linton

Ran is a young follower of the Breslov Chassidic sect, who spends his time spreading joy and faith on Israel’s streets. Following an acute and sudden decline in his father’s health, Ran has to return to the kibbutz where he grew up and reconnect with his father, whom he has been estranged from for many years. Ran fluctuates between hope and despair, and accompanied by his Father in Heaven and the broken-down van from which he spreads the joy, he finds himself on a journey back to his repressed past, fearful and confident of the possibility of repair.
