We are pleased to welcome Lesley Sachs, an accomplished Israeli leader and the new Chair of the Israel Reform Movement (IMPJ), for a pre-Shabbat reception. Lesley will be in conversation with Rabbi Kaye to provide us with behind-the-scenes news from Israel. After that, she will join us for Kabbalat Shabbat services, where she will speak on “Truth as our Anchor, Activism and Hope as our Beacon: the Reform Movement in Today’s Israel.”

Leslie has been an active member of Kehilat Beit Daniel in Tel Aviv since 2015, and a member of the Kehilat Kol HaNeshama community during her past in Jerusalem.
Professionally, she has served in key leadership roles since 1998, including CEO of the Israel Women’s Network, Director of the Israel Religious Action Center (IRAC), and Vice President of the World Union for Progressive Judaism (WUPJ), where she also managed Beit Shmuel/ Merkaz Shimshon. From 2008 to 2018, Lesley served as Executive Director of Women of the Wall.
In her volunteer work, Lesley has served on the board of the Jerusalem battered women’s shelter, chaired Ikar – a coalition of 22 organizations supporting agunot and women denied divorce – and more.
