Delivering Kindness: Volunteer Drivers Needed!
By: Audrey Birenbaum
In December 2022, the Bikkur Cholim committee began their Kugel Kindness Initiative, in which volunteers bake kugels and deliver them to those within our congregational family who find themselves at a moment where some extra support is appreciated.
We deliver kugels to those who are ill, to those who need some outreach, and to mourning families. Earlier this summer we expanded the program to include families with newborns. This September we are excited to expand to include new members of Holy Blossom Temple.
The only way to make this a success is to increase the number of drivers we have available to make the deliveries.
So, what does a kugel driver do? You will be contacted about once a month with one or two names of recipients. You will make contact and arrange a time for delivery. A smile and a warm welcome is always appreciated. You will be given all the tools and support needed to make your efforts have a huge impact.
If this is of interest to you, please contact our co-chairs, Sandi Smith and Audrey Birenbaum ([email protected]). We’ll be delighted to hear from you!
