Daniel Abramson, Director, Brotherhood Representative
I am deeply honored to serve on the board of the Holy Blossom Temple. Ever since I moved to Toronto in 2001, the Temple and its community have become an indispensable part of my life.
I met my wife, Karen Kollins, at URJ Camp George during its inaugural summer in 1999. This is also where I first met Rabbi Splansky, as well as other exceptional Reform Rabbis, Cantors, educators, and youth professionals. The mentorship of these role models helped me develop crucial skills as an educator.
For several years, I was part of the teaching team in Holy Blossom’s religious school. There, I gained invaluable experience from the committed and insightful educators and was encouraged to continue my learning by Holy Blossom’s clergy. Today, I work as the Curriculum Development Director for the Tikkun Project at The Leo Baeck Day School, the only Reform Jewish Day School in Canada.
I’m grateful to be able to watch my children grow and flourish at Camp and feel at home at Holy Blossom. I feel blessed to be able to use my experience as a Jewish educator to support the temple’s brotherhood and the entire HBT community.
The Holy Blossom Temple community has always been there for me and has been a crucial source of support for my family through thick and thin. As the president of the Brotherhood, my goal is to ensure that Holy Blossom remains a place where every member of the community feels recognized and valued.
