Marla Spiegel, Vice President of Development
Marla has a BA in Art History and Women’s Studies from McGill University. As a 3rd year undergraduate student, she attended the Rothberg School for Overseas Students at Hebrew University in Jerusalem – and fell in love with Israel! After graduation, she returned to Jerusalem for another year and worked at the Israel Museum. Marla then returned to Toronto to do a Masters of Museum Studies at the University of Toronto.
Marla has dedicated her career towards helping a variety of non-profits – in the arts, education, and health sectors – achieve their mission through fundraising, public education, community engagement and strategic planning. On a personal note, Marla and her husband, Joe Donahue, have been HBT members since 2005 and are the proud parents of two teenagers.
Marla joined the HBT Board of Directors in 2020 and is currently the VP of Development. She looks forward to working with both the Foundation and the Temple to optimize philanthropy and ensure HBT’s continues to go from strength to strength.
