Auschwitz: “Not Long Ago, Not Far Away”

Back by popular demand, Holy Blossom Temple will make a second congregational visit to this unprecedented exhibition that examines the history and legacy of Auschwitz.
This powerful exhibit, which arrived in Toronto just ahead of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz on January 27, 2025, explores the dual identity of the Auschwitz camp as a physical setting — the largest documented mass murder site in human history — and as a symbol of the borderless manifestation of hatred and human atrocity.
“Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away.” underscores a critical need to understand the underlying conditions that allowed the Holocaust to happen. By reflecting on the past, visitors are invited to consider their role in creating a more inclusive and tolerant society.
Congregant, beloved YEC educator, and past ROM educator Geri Durbin will lead a debrief afterwards and a guided tour of the Judaica exhibit, which will give us all an opportunity to exhale.
This exhibit is only appropriate for children 12+
Prices are as follows:
Adult – $31.20
Child (ages 12-14) – $19.20
Senior (65+) – $26.50
Student (post-secondary) -$25.60
Youth (ages 15-19) – $25.60
