October 31 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Israel Dialogues Fall 2024 Sessions

Online Only

Our Israel Dialogues sessions return during this pivotal time. With thanks to our Israel Dialogues Organizing Committee and our expert panellists, please hold the following dates as further details will follow:

Thursday, October 31st at 12:00 pm:
Join Alan Baker for his presentation “After Sinwar and Nasrallah- What is Next for Israel?” Alan is a respected international law expert, the former Israeli Ambassador to Canada, and a Director at the Jerusalem Centre for Security and Foreign Affairs.

Thursday, November 7th at 12:00 pm:
We will welcome Dr. Limor Yehuda. Dr. Yehuda is a successful lawyer, and now academic, who served as a member of the Israeli Supreme Courts legal team underneath Chief Justice Aharon Bakar. Recently Dr. Yehuda was published in Foreign Affairs, discussing the potential future of a two-state solution after more than a year of war.

Thursday, November 14th at 12:00 pm:
Jordan, Palestine, and the Politics of Collective Identity: A History with Asher Susser. In a sweeping narrative, Asher Susser traces the evolution of Jordanian politics through the prism of the kingdom’s policies toward Palestine and the Palestinians. Susser shows how the triangular relationship involving Jordan, the Palestinians, and Israel—from the creation of the Emirate of Transjordan in 1921 to the present—came to influence the Jordanians’ sense of collective identity, the impact it had on the making of peace between Jordan and Israel, and how it has shaped the complex and often tense relationship between Jordanian citizens of Palestinian origin and their East Bank compatriots. His work also sheds crucial light on Jordanian perceptions of their national security in the context of the war between Israel and Hamas.

Friday, December 13th at 12:00 pm:
Alon Pinkas will return. Alon is a respected diplomat, former Consul General of Israel in New York City, former foreign policy advisor to Ehud Barak, and a regular commentator on western news programs and in foreign press.
