Remembering Adi: One Year Later
Tuesday, October 29, 7:00 pm
Adi Vital-Kaploun z”l was a dual citizen of Israel and Canada. She grew up spending her summers in Ottawa with her extended family, including our own Cantorial Soloist Lindi Rivers. Adi was a dancer, a saxophonist, a basketball player. Adi was a soldier, an engineer in cybersecurity, an environmental scientist in desert studies and solar energy. Adi was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother.
She was 33 years old when terrorists invaded her home on Kibbutz Holit. She somehow managed to save the lives of her husband, father, and two young children, aged 4 and 6 months. Before she was murdered, Adi killed one of the terrorists herself.
Adi’s parents, Jacqui and Yaron, are coming from Israel to tell Adi’s harrowing story, which is also somehow an inspiration. Come bear witness to the spirit of a young woman, who could do anything and chose to be a desert-farmer, raising her young children on the Gaza border.
Adi’s story is the story of her generation of Israelis.
Adi’s story is the story of October 7th.
One year later, let’s remember together.
