Annual Campaign 2024
As we embark upon the Annual Campaign 2024, we are keenly aware that our hearts are pulled equally to our Homeland, Israel and our Home, Holy Blossom Temple. This underscores the deep connection we have to both Israel and our beloved Temple.
A strong Israel needs a strong diaspora and strong diaspora communities are instrumental in raising the next generation of Israel lovers and Canadian Jewish leaders. Our commitment to amplifying Jewish voices and fostering a vibrant Jewish community is more critical than ever.
In the current climate of heightened antisemitism, it is essential that we reinforce the strength of our Holy Blossom Temple Community. In every Mezuzah on every Jewish home, we find the words of the Shema/V’Ahavta: “Impress these words upon your children. Speak of them in your home and along your way…Inscribe them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” (Deut. 6:6-9)
These ancient words have a protective power, in that they instruct us in how to bring Judaism to life in every generation. The Mezuzah as a physical symbol also has a protective power. It is usually marked with a Shin or God’s name, Shaddai, which is thought to stand for “Shomer D’latot Yisrael,” “The Guardian of the Doorways of the People of Israel.”
This year’s Annual Campaign will be a Mezuzah campaign – a Campaign of protection and open doors. With your help, not only will we maintain the safety of our spiritual home, we will expand our reach to welcome many new members through our many doors.
Every gift, no matter the size, plays a crucial role in sustaining our programs, events, and services. You can make your donation online or by calling 416-789-3291 x 227.
All donations of $720 and up received by August 15, 2024, will be recognized on our Digital Signage located in the Lloyd and Gladys Fogler Archives and Seating Area in the Schwartz/Reisman Atrium. All donations will also be recognized on our website and in our bulletin.
As we launch this year’s Annual Campaign, please consider the impact of your gift so we can continue to strengthen the Jewish future.
If not us, then who?
