Grade 7 Tzedakah Fair
A few weeks ago, our Grade 7 students participated in the long-standing YEC tradition – the Tzedakah Fair. This was the first Tzedakah Fair post-pandemic.
Representatives from One Family Fund, Ve’ahavta, Jewish Family & Child Services, Save a Child’s Heart, Jewish Immigrant Aid Services, and Out of the Cold came and set up a table to share information about the important work their agencies are doing.
Students walked through the fair, gathering information about each organization, learning about the populations they serve, the needs they address and the programs and services they offer. Students then used this information to decide where to allocate some of our YEC Tzedakah funds.
Here’s what some of the representatives who were here had to say about the event:
“Thank you so much for including us in the Grade Seven Tzedakah Fair last night…All the students were a pleasure to interact with. They were respectful, interested, keen to learn and asked many insightful questions. They also demonstrated a genuine compassion for the countless Israeli citizens impacted by terror and the war” Ellen Little, One Family Fund
“Thank you for organizing an educational evening for your students to learn about the work of community partners, the people who served and the opportunities for volunteer engagement. Your students demonstrated maturity and genuine interest and the conversations were great! And I mirror my community colleagues in saying how good it felt to be together and recognize the vital work we are all doing” Ruth Hart, Ve’ahavta
