Gilad Kariv: Protecting Israel’s Democracy
October 3, 12:00 pm
Holy Blossom Temple, in partnership with ARZA Canada and the Israeli Reform Movement, is excited to welcome MK Rabbi Gilad Kariv for a digital briefing and conversation. As the current Israeli Coalition continues to challenge basic norms of government and democracy, MK Kariv has been on the front lines of the opposition and protest movement. He is a champion of the Reform Movement in Israel and one of Israel’s most essential and vital voices today.
Gilad Kariv served as the President and CEO of the IMPJ (Israel Reform Movement between 2009-21), prior to that Gilad served as the Director of the Israel Religious Action Center the IMPJ’s Legal, Public Policy and advocacy arm. He was elected to the Knesset in 2021 as a member of the Labor Party. He is the first Reform Rabbi to be elected to the Knesset.
MK Kariv will join us digitally to share his perspective on what has happened in Israel over the last 10 months, what tools and strategies Jews outside of Israel can use to help protect the cause of Israeli democracy and to give clear instructions on how we can continue to stay involved in our love and defence of the Jewish state.
The program with MK Kariv will be hybrid. You can attend in person at Holy Blossom Temple, or register for the link to take part at home.
