Please join us to Meet, Greet, and Eat with global leader Rabbi Sergio Bergman, hosted by the World Union for Progressive Judaism. Rabbi Bergman has been involved in social activism, climate justice, community leadership, and politics throughout his career. He was appointed as the President of the World Union for Progressive Judaism in 2020.
Please join us to feed both the body and mind – meet, greet, and eat with Rabbi Bergman. Light refreshments and beverages will be served.
After being ordained in 1992 at the Latin American Rabbinical Seminary of Buenos Ares, and at the Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion in Jerusalem, Rabbi Bergman went on to profoundly influence not only the Jewish community but the broader society in which he was born. He is the founder of the Arlene Fern Community school and of Civic Argentina. He was the first ever Rabbi elected as a government official in Argentina, and from 2015-2019 he served as the minister of Environment and Sustainable Development in President Mauricio Macri’s government. In 2019, Rabbi Bergman was recognized by the apolitical group as one of the world’s 100 Most Influential People in Climate Policy, amongst the ranks of David Attenborough and Michael Bloomberg.
